What is the form-function problem?

The form-function problem exists as a fear of participating in a dialogue or a difficulty to infer meaning directly from a text or notation, e.g., engineering diagram, scientific expression. It may have its roots in historical social anxiety or psychological insecurity.

What does DICTUM stand for?

The acronym stands for the fundamentals of productive conversation: dialogue, interpretation, construct, transfer for understanding and meaning.

What does the workshop do for me or how does it help me?

The workshop is focused on teams, enabling the collective mind to come to a shared understanding via a unique means. So, although an individual upskill does enhance the ability of a person, the empowerment and yield lie in the collective fortitude.

What does HALO stand for?

The acronym stands for the application of a cognitive enablement (approach) for the enhancement of team dynamics: holistic alignment of learned optimization.

Who is the target group of Kudzifunze or the journeys?

The target group is professionals who struggle with the interpretation of domain-specific language, who hesitate to participate in complex conversations, and which may additionally experience psychological insecurities.

How do I order or sign my team up for a workshop?

We have a valuable pre-workshop gap assessment that validates the team’s readiness for the workshop and gives the company the assurance of a return on investment.

What will it cost my business to book a team?

The value of a team coming to a shared understanding in a practical, everyday means without the risk of knowledge dissipating after a while is immeasurable but over time several metrics can be used to validate the spend. The value grows over time, hence our recommendation that teams sign up for a six-month mentoring or facilitation program after the initial workshop. The workshop is a fixed fee per person, minimum 10 (ten) in a team valued at ZAR2,500.00 per person for a half-day. Thereafter, we negotiate terms for the facilitation program.

How do I convince my executive to agree to the DICTUM program?

You can ask anyone, executives in particular, how many times in their experience have they heard a person(s) utter the words ‘did you get the meaning of what the conversation was all about’ or ‘I did not understand a word that was said’ – guaranteed most will agree. The reason is the unfamiliarity to the domain-specific uses of language in the workplace. That is what we’re all about. Mitigating these misunderstandings in a simple everyday use of language that is familiar to all.

Are there any entry barriers to the workshop?

Not at all. The power of the skill we transfer to you is a natural ability that you already have – we’re going to enable you to use it skilfully, effectively and productively.

Why is the HALO program part of the journey or product?

The initial workshop establishes the credibility of knowing the scope and scale of the individual preferences in processing complexities, and its effect on the collective mind. The HALO program optimizes the preferences by matching workplace contexts for greater team dynamics and performance. E.g., matching to job profiles, and matching team dynamics with the organizational profile.

How do I convince my executive to agree to the HALO program?
  • By understanding individual cognitive preferences, we can strategically align team members with roles and projects where they will thrive. This leads to increased efficiency, reduced friction, and higher-quality output. We can demonstrate this through metrics like reduced project completion times and improved team performance scores.
  • HALO fosters a culture of understanding and appreciation for diverse thinking styles. This leads to more effective collaboration, better problem-solving, and increased innovation. By creating a harmonious work environment, we reduce conflict and promote synergy.
  • When employees feel understood and valued, they are more engaged and less likely to leave. HALO helps create a sense of belonging and purpose. We can track improvements in employee satisfaction surveys and retention rates.
  • In today’s competitive landscape, organizations need to maximize their human capital. HALO provides a unique and powerful approach to unlocking the full potential of your workforce.
This system creates a data driven approach to team building, and role assignment, providing a large advantage over gut feeling based methods.
  • I understand that implementing a new program requires investment. However, the ROI of HALO is significant, and we can start with a pilot program to demonstrate its effectiveness. We also provide reporting, and constant collaboration to ensure that the program is meeting your expectations.

Why both programs?

Think about these programs as two legs. If you only strengthen one, then your ability to perform is impaired. The one program enables the practical application of a skill, learning to use a meaning-making resource. The other optimizes this learning in the collective setting, i.e., the team and extends to the organization.
